I created a map in my content and added a CSV text delimited file that had addressess. On my desktop ArcGIS Explorer, I can view the map with the points added from that file. Is there anyway to view that same map in the mobile app for iPad, the ArcGIS app? I saved the map in My Content online, but it only shows the type as Explorer Map, not Web Map and I can't figure out how to change that.
Thanks!

Explorer Desktop maps can only be read in Explorer Desktop. You need to create a web map in ArcGIS Online directly. From the Maps tab, you can create your map and add the CSV file (1000 feature limit).

Thanks,

I have a similar issue with a CSV file.  I created a web map and added the USGS earthquake csv file, but you can only view the data through ArcGIS online.  Why can't this data be seen through the mobile app or the browser?

Thanks.

I don't have any issue seeing a map with a CSV on an iPad... either using the native Safari browser or the iOS app. Perhaps you can share the URL to the map you're having trouble with. You would also need to share it with everyone first.

Thanks,

Mike

My understanding was that online, you can only add CSV files that contain lat/long coordinates and my file only has addresses. Can they be used?

Hello Mike,

Look for the "Earthquakes (real-time)" map.  If you can see the past 7 days and the past hour points, please let me know.  Also, would a firewall or a network block the CSV file from the USGS site?

I tried doing this, but it tells me the data file (CSV) doesnt' contain lag/long data. My data only contains the addresses. It will import into the Desktop version, why not the online? Thanks

@aclark13

Explorer Online will allow you to geocode up to 250 addresses. This functionality is not yet available in the Map Viewer.

Your link doesn't work for me. I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do. Are you trying to reference a CSV file on the web? Perhaps you can provide the URL to the CSV you are accessing.

Thanks,

Mike
