Hello is there a way to compare two contours and get a difference between them essential subtract a field with z values and then export that result to map or for download?

thanks

Normally you would want to apply an interpolation (Topo to Raster—Help | ArcGIS Desktop) to create a surface and determine the change using the two surfaces: Minus—Help | ArcGIS Desktop

I doubt that the contours share offset x,y coordinates or run in parallel.

Perhaps if you could explain what you need the difference values for it would help.

Thanks for replying, we originally take contours we have surveyed and show change detection (movement, change in elevation etc.) usually we just take one contour and subtract it by the other the difference values show us change in positive ( higher elevation) and negative (low elevation) so for example shifting sands could create a positive change in one area of the contour.

Is there anyway to implement this tool in arc online?

Not implemented since it requires a Spatial Analyst license for arcmap or Pro
