Basemap Transparency Issues

Hello,

I am using the Imagery basemap in ArcGIS online. I changed the transparency to 50%. In ArcExplorer Online and web apps the transparency appears correct but when I re-open the map in ArcGIS online there is no transparency. Is there away to get ArcGIS online to display the saved transparency.
