I have noticed that when you create a web map with a feature service set to refresh every minute, that the ESRI Basic Viewer will pick up the new/deleted features using that web application.
But, what if the web map behind that web application added a new layer and saved the map? The basic viewer has no idea the map changed, until you refresh the web browser of the ESRI Basic Viewer.
Is there a way to notify the viewer that the map has changed and to tell the viewer to update itself? This is classic observer pattern, but can I make it work using the ESRI Basic viewer?
