I have a point .shp, that has a "city" field in the attribute table, which is null at the moment. Also, polygon .shp that contains a populated "city" field.  What I want is the point shape to auto populate the "city" from the polygon field based on its spatial relationship as I create new points.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ryan,

Are you editing in ArcGIS Online? The Join Features—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS tool is something you could use after editing to pull the City field into the point layer as a new output.

I'm not aware of a way to do it automatically as you edit in ArcGIS Online but the Attirbute Assistant might be helpful if you're using ArcGIS Desktop: Attribute Assistant | ArcGIS Solutions
