The 'Reference online content' option within the Create Mobile Map Package tool in ArcGIS Pro is very useful for publishing offline map packages that also include live layers. This allows mobile users to have critical data available when working offline, while also viewing real-time data when they do have cellular service. For example: an offline map of worker responsibility areas and access roads, that also includes real-time colleague vehicle locations for reference when user has cell service.
It would be helpful to have this same functionality available when publishing offline maps directly from ArcGIS Online or Field Maps Designer. Please see this example screenshot with thoughts on how you would configure this for each service used to create the offline area.
We recently came across a need to publish an offline map package for use in Field Maps that also includes layer filters. Currently you can either publish a fully offline map with layer filters configured from Field Maps Designer or publish an offline map package from ArcGIS Pro with certain real-time layers referenced to online content... but not both.
This enhancement would likely help many organizations who want to create hybrid online/offline maps directly from ArcGIS Online and/or Field Maps Designer! Thank you for your consideration!
