I recently removed a user from my ArcGIS Online organization. I was prompted to transfer all the user's content, which I did (to myself, an admin). After removal, I realized that all this user's secure services with stored credentials locked all downstream maps and apps where these feature layers were used by requiring an ArcGIS Online login. This is not difficult to fix in the GUI (a la this implementation), but when this issue persists over hundreds of layers, this is not tenable. So, I tried to reassign these credentials programmatically. However, it does not seem possible to change programmatically after the user who originally stored the credentials has been removed from the organization, even as an organizational administrator or for owners of said layers.
The idea: When users are removed from the organization in AGOL, include a prompt that will allow the administrator doing the removing to review and potentially inherit the stored credentials for the worker who is being removed from the organization. This is very similar to the prompt to transfer the user content.
