We maintain a few vector tile layers that have been used by people within our organization to create custom vector tile styles. The last time we tried to update our vector tile layers, we had updated the design by removing one layer. We were shown an error message that allowed us to review how the changes to our vector tile layer would impact (break) the custom styles that other users had created. The impacts seemed to more than we had anticipated -- we had removed one boundary layer, but the preview showed that many other layers would also stop displaying in the custom style after the update. We would like to see a list of errors in the custom styles, or a list of changes to the vector tile layer that are causing errors, so that we can try to resolve them and minimize problems for the custom style owners.
