Group layer description metadata field in web map group layers

In ArcGIS Pro you can add a Description metadata field to a group layer but this is not present when you create a group layer in a web map. It would be nice to have this so we could use the description in a tooltip for the layer.

Hi @DHighness, 

A group layer can have a summary and description in ArcGIS Online. The summary can be created when the group layer is created, the description can be updated on the item page.

To confirm, is the idea to show the Group Layer summary or description in a tooltip when hovering over the layer in Map Viewer?

The idea is to be able to add a description to the Group Layer in a web map (Map Viewer) similar to what you show in the second screen shot. If it show up there then we should get a tool tip when people are viewing the map. I'll check to see if that is possible now in AGOL. I need it to work in Enterprise Portal but we are still at 11.5 so maybe it will work when we upgrade to 12?
