In ArcGIS Pro, editing templates can be configured with a default construction tool (e.g., Line, Freehand Line, Right Angle, Rectangle, etc.) that is automatically activated when a template is selected. This significantly speeds up field-to-desktop editing workflows.
In Map Viewer (ArcGIS Online), template management is currently limited to setting default attribute values. There is no option to define which construction tool should be pre-selected when a template is activated.
Request: Extend the template configuration in Map Viewer to allow setting a default construction tool per template — matching the functionality already available in ArcGIS Pro's Manage Templates pane.
Use case example: A polygon template for "Vegetation area" should automatically activate the Freehand tool, while a template for "Building footprint" should activate the Rectangle tool — without the editor having to manually switch tools each time.
