Currenty only the owner of a webmap can make changes to that webmap, if someone within the organization wants to make a change and they are not the owner they have to use the "Save As" option. Providing the option to have mulitple editors on a webmap would allow increased collaboration within the rganization and less reliance on a single person to make all of the changes.
