In short, allow us to design custom pop-up styles and content. There's no way to customize your design to make the map look outstanding. Quite frankly, all AGOL web maps look horrible when it comes to the pop-up.

Ideally I'd like to be able to have charts, images, graphics, and at the very least change the colors and fonts, spacing, and add symbols. Take inspiration from here: https://www.hudsandguis.com/home/2015/12/7/spectre-007

And ya, that movie is from 2015....  we should be way ahead tbh.

Also custom labels......

We're able to design popups in HTML. I actually make my own HTML charts if the built-in ones don't suffice. What other features are you looking for out of interest?

  • More options for the built-in charts
  • Options to control the popup window frame and header

Hello all,

I was coming here basically to ask for the same. Currently we have no control at all on the overall design of popups, i.e. not the content but the container, the window itself (its frame, header, borders, background...).

As it is now it still looks pretty "technical" and my apps are dedicated to users that have little to no experience with mapping (let alone GIS).

I don't need the "zoom to" option at the top and it would be very useful to be able to chose to enable it or not for example. I would also like to make it simpler, with rounded corners and custom border colors, and just displaying text with no or minimal header. Today it is not possible to have a say on this and it really lacks when we want to set up a map shared with a large public.

We use Experience Builder to design apps. Pop-ups are a fundamental part of these apps. There are many possibilities to customize parts of an app in Experience Builder, but it’s not possible to change the look and feel of the pop-up frame. Yes, we can control the content of the pop-up and with recent updates, possibilities have been expanded. But it lacks the ability to match the design of the pop-up with the design of the app, like size, colors, rounded corners et cetera. Also, it is not possible to remove some redundant functionalities like the ‘zoom to’ option as @J_Dan already mentioned.

A couple of weeks ago I was figuring out whether it is possible to link from a pop-up to a window in an Experience. My goal was to store the feature's core information in the pop-up and creating a link to a window with a button (like "more info"). The window should contain the rest of the feature's info. This is possible with the list widget, but I would like to see a similar option for pop-ups. For now, I stored all the feature’s information in one pop-up. But it gets very cramped because you can’t change the size of the pop-up.
