I have a hosted feature service with attachments. It is editable. I need to create additional readonly views to share with others. When I look at the fields, it looks like attachments is in a field. I should be able to select only the fields I want or don't want in my view including the attachment field. In fact, I was able to do this once. I feel EXTREMELY lucky I did it once as I have proof it is possible. But maybe AGOL changed with a subsequent update or the programmers didn't realize it worked at one time and they never intentionally designed AGOL to allow for this. But I don't know what they envision people doing when it comes to downloading the data. You can't period. The one view I have without attachments downloaded in a few minutes. But anytime I've tried with a view with attachments, I've let it run for 10 minutes and then have given up on it. How long does Esri believe is a reasonable time to wait for download? I should be able to provide my customers with a view they can download quickly.
You should be able to 'hide' attachments on individual layers of a Hosted Feature Layer View.
It is not set at the View settings where you turn fields on/off. It's set on the View layer Item Details page for each sub layer, similar to where you would enable attachments.
