Building a Network Dataset Error 030178

I'm trying to build a network dataset of North Carolina roads in ArcGIS Pro 2.8.1. It has all the requisite information for the New Network Data wizard to build an ND. The problem is that when I browse to find my feature dataset, it doesn't show up. When I try to copy the path of the feature layer into the box, it gives me "ERROR 030178 The output feature dataset is not valid." Any ideas for why this might be the case?

In the ArcGIS Pro, catalog pane, you should be able to right-click on the feature dataset and choose to create a network data set. If the Network Dataset already exists, then you should be able to right-click on the ND and choose to Build Network.

What steps are you doing so that you are not able to see your feature dataset?

A feature dataset is not the same thing as a feature layer or feature class. Perhaps you're attempting to select the wrong item as the input to the Create Network Dataset tool.

If you haven't already, check out our Create a network dataset tutorial.
