We would appreciate it if another problem case, “Maximize Facilities,” were added to the location-allocation analysis. Specifically, we would like to maximize the number of facilities, whereby each facility should remain below a maximum facility impedance cutoff (e.g., maximum travel time of 10 minutes to the demand points) and achieve minimum coverage (e.g., min. $15,000 relative weighting of the demand point). Background: As a delivery service, we want to have as dense a store network as possible, with delivery areas that are as small as possible, but at the same time we must ensure that each store has sufficient potential (demand weight) in its delivery area. Our delivery areas should therefore be neither too large nor too small.
