Currently, Network Analyst in ArcGIS Pro 3.4 only allows routing based on input points (nodes) rather than the entire road network (edges). This limits the ability to generate routes for monitoring vehicles that need to traverse all streets in a given area.
- "Full Network Coverage" Routing – A new option ensuring that all edges in the network are covered with minimal redundancy.
- Graph-Based Optimization – Implementing algorithms such as the Chinese Postman Problem (CPP) to generate an efficient Eulerian path covering all edges at least once.
- Custom Constraints – Allow prioritization of certain edges, avoidance of unnecessary loops, and optimization based on time or cost.
This improvement is essential for infrastructure monitoring, road maintenance, and urban inspections.
Utilize Network Dataset directly without requiring manual node input.
- Enable exporting the optimized route as a Route Layer for further use.
This feature would significantly enhance Network Analyst for real-world monitoring applications.
