CarPlay and Android Auto integration would make ArcGIS Navigator safer, easier to use, and more productive for field personnel by providing enterprise GIS navigation on the vehicle dashboard. It would improve driver safety, increase route-following efficiency, support offline operations, leverage existing GIS investments, and align the product with modern user expectations while strengthening Esri's position in the field mobility market.

1. Improved Driver Safety

The primary value of CarPlay and Android Auto is reducing driver distraction by displaying navigation on the vehicle's built-in screen and enabling voice-controlled interaction. This allows field personnel to keep their eyes on the road instead of handling a phone or tablet. CarPlay and Android Auto were specifically designed to provide safer access to navigation while driving.

Benefits:

  • Hands-free navigation and route guidance.
