I wanted to clarify something related to registering a SQL database with Monitor:
We have our SQL database in a cluster. Are we required to install the agent on the machine that can access the database? I would then need to update my firewall rules to allow traffic through port 1443 (the default) between that machine and my ArcGIS Monitor server at this point. Is that correct?
Hi @KTuri,
ArcGIS Monitor Agent needs to be installed on a machine where it can communicate with both the database cluster through the port you mentioned and ArcGIS Monitor Server through port 30443. You will need to update your firewall rules to allow traffic through the default port between the database machine and where the ArcGIS Monitor Agent is installed, since this is the piece of software that will actually be interfacing with the database to collect metrics. Let me know if I can clarify further.

Hi @GeoJosh;
I finally got ArcGIS Monitor working! I have added the SQL databases but, sadly, Monitor is just seeing them as plain databases, and not geodatabases. Is this a limitation of Monitor, or is there something more I need to do? I have updated the firewall settings to allow communication over port 30443.
Cheers,
KTuri
