The Monitor for ArcGIS could be the possibility to integrate with workflow manager extension. This arcgis role works with Feature Services published on hosted server and the monitor could be the possibility to join with these services and show metrics about:

  • All jobs created
  • The type of the jobs
  • The status of the jobs (running, stopped, etc)
  • The number of jobs for each Portal user
  • All jobs deleted
  • More metrics about all info releted to workflow services

I've found that if you cut down the number of maps or layouts that are open at the same time it doesn't bog down as much. Once you add or create a map or layout in a project it saves it in the corresponding folder in the Content pane so they don't have to be open all the time and you can close the tabs when you don't need them. And when you do need them you can re-open them at that time.

I think this is a wonderful idea; Monitor and Work Flow Manager have been a blessing in helping me come up with ways to loosen the reigns of higher governance but with a higher awareness of trust and verification to my end users.

I could easily see this integration work the other way where based on the health metrics of certain services I can automatically notify my users to do maintenance on their services.
