I can't seem to open AIX files anymore in Illustrator. I'm running version 26.3.1 of Illustrator and version 2.9.3 of ArcGIS pro. I've also downloaded the latest plugin which I think is 3.1 but still having the same issue. Whenever I open Illustrator I get this error message and when trying to open an AIX after Illustrator is opened, it just ends up being a bunch of code.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Just FYI, I went back to Version 26.2.1 and it works now, so it clearly the plugin just needs to be updated for version 26.3.1
@MarkFischer1 Sorry for the inconvenience. The compatibility issue with Maps for Adobe 3.1 on Illustrator v26.3.1 is platform-independent. You can find more detail on the announcement . The development team is working on a solution to the issue and an update with the fix will be available very soon.

Just curious, but are you running Illustrator on a Mac or on a PC? I am having similar problems on a Mac, but wondered if this was Mac-specific or if it was platform independent?

@MarkFischer1 The latest update v3.1.1 was released yesterday. It solves the compatibility issue with Adobe Illustrator v26.3.1 and supports Illustrator on Apple M1 native mode.
