Issues with layers not showing in Sidebar

Hi, I am trying to set up a webmap using the Sidebar template, all of which is great....apart from that it doesnt seem to let me show the layers: all layers are hosted on my Online account, and both the hosted layer and the service definition are set as being shared publically. Any help in this would be hugely appreciated!!!!
