Hello,
I was wondering if it was possible to have an option for the legend to be open by default on the map in Attachment Viewer.
We have a new application for the public, showcasing our new businesses and projects around the municipality. These projects are symbolized by type in the map. If we were able to have the legend opened up by default, that would be super.
In lieu of that, we have pasted a picture of the legend in the disclaimer of the application similar to how the Town of Gilbert, Arizona handled it, seen here:
We of course have the legend enabled, but it requires somebody knows what the little legend icon means and actually clicks on it.
Is this an option that could be added to the functionality of Attachment Viewer? I know it would at least help us and the Town of Gilbert as well 😄
Thanks!
Rather than relying on Instant Apps, I would recommend using ArcGIS Experience Builder to build a custom application. This will give you much more control over the user interface, including the ability to keep the legend visible by default, better manage layout options, and add other interactive tools. Overall, it provides more flexibility to design a more engaging and user-friendly public-facing application.
Hi @twilliamson_topv ,
Great news! We've heard this feedback and a "Legend open at start" option will be included in the upcoming release. You'll be able to toggle it on right from the configuration panel.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share your use case and the creative workaround with the disclaimer image. That kind of detail helps us prioritize the right improvements.
Instant Apps are purpose-built to handle scenarios exactly like this, and we're continuously adding configuration options based on community feedback like yours.
Stay tuned!
