I am creating an attachment viewer app for use on both computer and mobile. Using the attachment-centric app, the computer view looks perfect but there is an issue on the mobile app where PDFs show up black except for a small portion with our logo. JPGs work just fine.
I tested this out with the map-centric app and the layout is not as ideal on the computer BUT the PDFs work, which make me suspect it may be a bug or unintended issue.
Please see the attached photo for an example of what I am seeing with attachments on attachment-centric viewer on the mobile device. Thank you!
Hi @Tiff
Would it be possible to share the link to the app that you see the issue with? If not, can you try opening this app and see if you run into the same behavior with the PDF's? https://webapps.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/attachmentviewer/index.html?appid=9d1977c7f5ae4204ae34b...
On your desktop, in the app configuration if you use the mobile view do you see the same behavior?
Thanks!
Sarah
Thank you for helping me troubleshoot this! Unfortunately I cannot share the app publicly but I am happy to do a screenshare. If I go to the link you provided on my phone, the attachment works. I am suspecting it is an issue with the PDF since I can actually see our logo in the PDF but everything else is black. However, again, the PDF works perfectly fine on the computer as well as on the "map-centric" viewer on mobile. Also, just confirmed that the PDFs work on an iPad.
If I go to the app configuration mobile view, the PDFs show up fine.
Also, another question related to attachments - this app template allows editing attributes. Is there a way to allow adding attachments to existing features as well? (this is an important feature for us)
Thank you again!
Hi @SarahMcDonald_Esri, thanks again for your help. I just wanted to follow up on my question above. Attachments on mobile is one thing that would be great to fix, but not as urgent as the editing and adding new attachments into existing features. Is this functionality available and possible? Thank you!
(By the way, I attended the FedGIS conference last week and asked a few Instant App-related questions to technical staff who attended. I mentioned this post as well)
