Hi all,
I'm using the attachment viewer instant app with the Attachment focused layout. When a user opens the app it will zoom to the first point and then they can click the arrow to move through the pictures. How can I set it so the map zooms in more on the point? It is zoomed out too far now. All of the settings I've changed don't make a difference.
I'm considering switching to use the Map focused layout because it works better but I really prefer the attachment focused layout.
Hi @AndreaB_
Thanks for reaching out about this. While using the attachment focused layout, whatever the current scale of the map is what the map will use when navigating to the next location in the app.
One thing you could try is to use the Map area tool to set the map view to be zoomed in further. In the map area component, zoom in the map to the scale you want the features to be zoomed into > Hit the Set button under the map view tool label, then save. Now when the app first loads the scale you set in the map area configuration should be reflected when you navigate locations.
I've also gone ahead and made a note of trying to add a more straight forward setting for this capability and will bring it up with the team.
Thanks!
Sarah
Hi @SarahMcDonald_Esri ,
Thank you for the tip and for passing on my ideas. I was able to set the map area configuration, after a lot of testing, to the scale I wanted. Where does the app get the scale for the Home button? I thought maybe it got it from the default view of the web map but I'm not sure it is matching in my testing.
Also, I have several sites and I would love a way to set a first map that loads that is zoomed out and shows all of the sites before it zooms to any of the individual points. (Sort of like a front page - overview map. Actually this would be the extent of my Home Button). I even thought if I could use a web map in the Cover Page or Introduction Window that could work.
Maybe there's a different app that I should be testing for this.
Thank you.
