Appreciate all of the hard work that has been put into the new Reporter App and it runs very smoothly! We used to use the Crowdsource Reporter and it has a feature I think that would be very beneficial to the new Reporter App. It has a reporting period where you could set the date of when you were able to report on the map, and set when this submission period would close also.
Apologies if this is something that is already being worked on, but thought I would share my idea just in case! Thank you!
Hi @AidanMcCullough I'm glad you're liking the new reporter app. We currently don't have this feature on the roadmap, but we constantly review feedback and update our roadmap. Could you explain what about that feature you found useful? Is the ability to control the reporting period or messaging. If you can explain your workflow we can look into this option.
One suggestion I have is you can turn off the reporting capability in the config if you'd like to close the reporting period. Thanks!
Hey @SubaKrishnan,
What we did with the old reporter app is that we would set the reporting period for the public to give feedback on a certain area of road we were looking at improving. This information was compiled over the course of a month and was limited time feedback because this information was shown and presented.
What I found really helpful was that if you tried to get into the reporter app after the submission period we set, there was a popup you could toggle that would automatically show up with a window/popup that the submission period was closed immediately after the linked was clicked on. I attached a picture as an example on how it looked on the old app.
Thank you for the suggestion for a work around for now, as we have been doing that as of now! Just really liked the old way this would notify the public that we are no longer taking suggestions, but they could still contact us with any concerns. As to answer your question, the ability to control the reporting period and adding window popups if it passed was super useful to us. Thanks!
