I would like to be able to retain a map extent among maps in Atlas.

Use case:

Looking at developing an app to help the planners with processing land divisions. We have a report template that we use that has sections based on elevation, environmental conditions, soil, municipal/sewer boundaries, etc. There would be maps for each section of the report. The planner could zoom to the parcel and switch maps without having to relocate the original parcel for each map.

I realize I could add layers, but that isn't a good process either as each section has multiple layers it needs for the report.

The map extent is reset when layers are added too. This is confusing for users.

It should be simple functionality to add to the app.

Hi @JenniferBorlick

Thank you for reaching out with this request. Have you tried using the map area option in the configuration. In Map area, you can configure a new map view that will act as the default extent. So if a new map is opened, the map will open at the newly defined map extent.
