I think the Remove Duplicates option should be enabled by default, or have a setting to have it enabled by default. I don't see a use case where you'd want to include duplicates, this just results in unneeded letters being mailed.
I fully agree with this suggestion. We often have the same property owner that owns adjacent properties in a given area, and therefore will have the same mailing address for multiple parcels. If the user forgets to check this option, duplicate labels are created. This results in wasted postage fees and the property owner gets duplicate letters in the mail. In our use case, I can't think of a scenario where we'd ever want to keep duplicates. Please make it so this is enabled by default.
This seems like a very simple change that could be easily implemented. Is Esri able to provide an update on this request?
The "remove duplicates" behavior also appears to only remove dups if it's a duplicate record across APN, owner name, and address fields. So a notification list that is for owners, if an owner appears multiple times it won't remove those records unless the APN field is also a dup. In my example, a public agency or developer may own multiple parcels but the APNs are unique and thus not removed.
Is this others' experience as well?
It is unfortunate that duplicate fields can't be specified in the app configuration or rather only compared the owner name and address fields. In most cases duplicate APNs won't occur.
