In order to filter numerical values, it would be great if a user could use a slider to select his preferred range of values.

Isnt this just the Range Slider?

Hi Lucas and Derek,

I believe it may be. Sorry I didn't see this post last month, Lucas. Below is an animated GIF of what Derek is speaking about.

You can easily filter your data in a variety of places, right in your dataset if you like – using a slider or by typing in numbers. Your choice. 🙂

Click'n'Drag... it's easy. Admittedly, though, sometimes it's hard to know where to look. So thanks for asking!

I hope this helps solve the problem, and Derek, thanks for pointing this out. Sorry I missed commenting before now.

If you have ideas for expanding this feature to other areas, though, we're all ears. Sliders are fun! 🙂

Best,

Ian

Hi Derek, hi Ian,
Thank you for your help! I think I could have described my issue a bit more clearly.
We are aware of the range filters for creators, and we use them, too! However, we would like to provide this feature to viewers. If we create a manual filter, we can use the slider in order to set the limits that the filter should apply later on. However, our use case contains a lot of different values (think of ranges between 1900 and 2022 😉 ) and we want to allow the viewers (which will be ~100 people) to set these limits themselves! Is that possible in any way?
Best regards
Lucas

A-ha! Now I get it. This makes a lot of sense and is a great idea!

I don't believe this is currently possible with sliders. But sliders are fun and engaging for geovisual users, so I am personally keen on the idea.

We do have Predefined Filters, which users can interact with to show and hide different types of data. However, there are no sliders there.

I'll post this to our "ideas board." This is a really neat idea. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Best,

Ian
