Labeling contour lines created using the Geostatistical Analyst

I have used the Geostatistical Analyst to created a kriged contour map. I have created contour lines on the map by using "Contours" within the Symbology tab. Now I would like to label the contour lines using Maplex. It is my understanding that I need to export the contours by right-clicking on the kriged layer and selecting Data and Export to Vector. When I do this, I am getting the message that my input layer is not valid. I am unsure how to solve this problem.

I'm not able to reproduce your issue.  Try restarting your computer and recreating the kriging layer.  If the problem persists, you'll need to contact Esri support services.
