Does anyone know a means of areal interpolation that can be done without the Geo. Analyst license? I'm needing to interpolate population density of census tracts or blocks to the state plane grid for standardization. A colleague has come up with a method of finding the percentage of a split polygon within a grid square and applying that percentage to the population density, then finding the aggregate average of all polygons within a grid square, but we think there has to be a better way.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
