I want to make my map look as clean as possible but there are a number of feature layers I would like to include for the mobile application. If I add them all, can the field person view only the necessary features as the need to?  For example if there is a streams layer and a street layer can they make the streams layer dissappear while using the mobile device?

Hola BDickson,

In doing some research for you on this item, you submitted on the forum. I found the following option you can use to control the amount of data being displayed within the map on the ArcMap side. By setting scale dependency to your data, your field crew will not see all the data provided at once, but as they zoom in, out and maneuver within the project data will appear and disappear.

Gracias, BDickson!

In Arcgis Mobile (Win8) 10.1.1.0 you could enable and disable feature layers. So if you have different layers you could turn them visible or invisible.

Yes - Layer Visibility... allows each layer to be ticked on / off just like the Table of Contents in ArcMap
