Label position

I'm using the mobile project center to create a project which we then publish.  But all the labels seem to ignore any positioning setup within the map service .mxd.  I was trying to offset the labels but they always want to plop down slightly above center.  Is this just the way all labeling is treated in ArcGIS mobile?

ArcGIS Mobile does not support the justification properties for a map layer. Please review ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10 Help topic on designing and creating mobile maps in ArcGIS Desktop for supported labeling, symbols, symbology, etc for mobile maps - http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgismobile/10.0/help/index.html#//007v00000006000000.htm.

I have experienced similar issues with labeling in Mobile. In some Mobile projects points and lines label fine, in others I have no luck at all with any labels.

Is there any documentation on how to configure or troubleshoot these issues aside from this basic information?
