insert Raster in ArcMobile 9.3.1

I want to know if you can add photos to a raster field in arcgismobile 9.3.1
I have a service with a layer that contains 20 fields including one rater when queried, the service brings 19 fields. Does not bring the raster.
A solution was to store the image as blob

The Raster field was not supported until version 10.  The bug number on this is NIM039762.
