Editing Geometry in ArcGIS Mobile (Windows Tablet)

Hi there,

Has anybody written an extension for ArcGIS Mobile for Windows that allows for editing the geometry of existing features?  Currently it seems if you want to change a feature you have to delete it and make a new one, which is a pain.  I am currently using ArcGIS Mobile 3.1, Windows 7 Pro, Panasonic CF-19 Toughbook.

I would like to be able to move points or vertices of features using the map, or my current location similar to the initial capture process.  I think that this should be a standard feature but it doesn't appear to be.

No need to delete (although this is from Mobile 10.0.1.)


  1. Identify object

  2. Select object (to the right)

  3. Select EDIT

  4. Select "Shape" or similar

  5. Select "RE-COLLECT"

  6. On top of the existing one, re-collect the new one

  7. Fill out ALL nessessary fields

  8. SAVE

  9. And your "object" is now changed
