Hi all,

I'm new to ArcGIS for Windows Mobile (I'm using 3.1), and could use some help with my first map project.

I completed the following steps to create my project:

1. Created a .mxd map file.
2. Used Mobile Tools --> Create Mobile Cache using the above file as my input.
3. I now have three file types in my output folder: .bin, .db, and .db-journal.

Now, to open this project on my handheld, I assume I copy these files into my ArcGIS Mobile folder on the handheld. However, I still need the .amp file to run this. How do I go about creating that file type?

Thanks!

Could you please (if my answer where the right one) elevate the thread to "Answered" and perhaps give the "credit" for the answer 😮

You'll need to "add" the cache into a ProjectCenter project first...perhaps "add" some basemaps....perhaps change some settings.....save it as a project and THEN deploy it to your mobile device.

Of course, thank you. I was trying to open my cached map files just by clicking on the "open folder" icon, instead of adding them through the add operational layer from mobile cache option.
