Hello,

i am trying to add a few addresses into a SharePoint List and show them on the world map (bing maps).

I already executed the geoprocessing workflow, and for all items the right place is stored with them. I can verify that by opening the SharePoint List item -> the pin is exactly where it is supposed to be. *thumbs up for that* 🙂

Now i tried to show all List items in the SharePoint Map WebPart. I followed these steps:
http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/sharepoint/help/BrowsingSharePointSites.html

I can see the data in the Table below the Map, but there are simply no Points shown on the map.

Did i miss a step?

Thank you in advance for your help 🙂

Best Regards

edit: i forgot: running on sharepoint 2010 enterprise

Isn't their anybody with a clue what could be the cause of the problem?

Can i somehow debug the WebPart to find more information about the problem?

Does the Webpart save information in Logfiles or something?

Any hint is very welcome 😄

What Geocoding service are you using?

I tried ArcGIS Online Service as well as Bing Geocoding Service.

Both services find coordinates for the locations. When i open one location in the List i see on the small map a pin at the according position (see screenshot 1).

Now I want to connect my ArcGIS Map WebPart with this list - apparently it does connect because the list entries are shown in the table. But there are no pins for the entries and the "Go to" and "Zoom To" functions do not work. (see screenshot 2).

I hope that clarifies my problem description a little bit 🙂

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards

So i solved the problem myself, but i am not sure what caused the issue 🙂

I uninstalled via setup.exe, rebooted and installed again with admin rights (as i did before) and now it works.

Now i can dig a little deeper into the whole mapping Stuff 🙂

Ok now it's really driving me nuts...

I was so happy it worked on the Server via RDP, until i tried to work with the WebPart on my Client Desktop. There it just won't work 😞

Configuration of the two Systems:
config: Client / Server
Browser: IE 9, Firefox, Chrome / IE 8
OS: Win 7 Professional / Windows Server 2008 R2
Silverlight: 5.0.61118.0 / 5.0.61118.0
Trust Settings: Local Intranet / Local Intranet

Could it be, that the Silverlight Mapping WebPart somehow has no rights to show the Pins on my Client Desktop?

Attached you can see it is definitely the same WebPart that works on the Server but not on the Client...

Could it be some configuration Problem e.g. in the clientaccesspolicy.xml ?

I feel i am close to get it running, but i still need some tips to get into the right direction 🙂

btw: i tried all compatibility views on my Client IE from V7 to V9 (compatibility) ...
