In the help system for Maps for Office it says:
You can change the default geometry service used to locate addresses by updating the Geometry Service Url in the Esri Maps Configuration page (File menu > Esri Maps).
I would like to add my organizations geocode service but the Excel File - Esri Maps page only shows
ArcGIS Connection which is set to www.arcgis.com
and 2 checkboxes for autoupdate and hardware acceleration.

Has the option been moved or removed?

Thanks

Hi Keith,

I've been trying to find the same setting! I'm thinking I'm missing something. Been reading the documentation, checking Esri Vids, checking all parts of Excel, restarting my PC, etc. to no avail. I see the exact same settings on my Config page using version 2.0.2.583.

thanks for starting this post. Hopefully Esri steps up soon to supply an answer.

Keith, Aaron,

I apologize for the confusion. The ability to point to a custom geometry service was removed in version 2 of Maps for Office. I will make sure the documentation is updated to reflect the change.

Scott,
   Thank you for the response.
So there will never be an option to add or own geocoding services? Why would something like that be removed?
