Hi,

I would be interested to know if the full set of features will be available for the JavaScript web part on devices running non-Microsoft operating systems. I am particularly interested in editing and geoprocessing capability on Android and iOS devices as SharePoint 2013 has improved support for mobile devices and it would be great to get an idea of ESRI's future plans in this area as it could avoid some duplication.

Can this web part be used without ArcGIS Online or Portal?

Thanks,

Matt

i don't think the esri map web part can work without AGOL or Portal, since it need to service from the server. But for the andriod platform. i think it could support in the furture version.

Hi Matt,

As you've pointed out, many of the platform restrictions we've previously faced were due to restrictions of Microsoft SharePoint. With the new JavaScript map web part we now have options for support on platforms such as Android and iOS, but our main limitation will still be with any limitations that SharePoint has on these platforms. All that said, while we're working towards achieving general parity in the JavaScript map web part with the existing Silverlight map web part, geoprocessing and editing are not yet supported. Those items are on our backlog for future releases.

As to your question regarding AGOL and Portal, bysmetoto is correct that the map web part requires an ArcGIS Online subscription or a Portal for ArcGIS account.
