I recently created a vector tile web layer from a feature layer to use as a basemap overlay in Field Maps. The feature layer itself had labels configured to show two fields from the feature attributes. I added the vector tile layer to the basemap section of the Web Map, and when viewing it in Field Maps online or through the Web Map Viewer in desktop browser the labels worked as expected. However when I created an offline area for Field Maps and downloaded it to my mobile device the labeling stopped functioning correctly. A very small number of features displayed labels as intended, but the majority had no labels at all.
I tried going into the hosted Tile layer Settings and ensuring that the relevant attribute fields were included in the tile, then rebuilding the cache, updating the offline area in Field Maps designer, and deleting/redownloading the offline area on my mobile device. This did not resolve the issue.
Is anyone aware of a fix for this behavior, or could it be a bug? I found a workaround for now, but I'm interested in understanding why this happened.
