Hello, I was curious if it was possible to allow users to take maps offline without allowing them to create user defined offline areas. We have predefined offline areas created via Field Maps Designer, but some field staff are still choosing to create their own areas, which we are trying to avoid.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @mattkramer ,
There is a setting in Field Maps Designer that allows mobile workers to create their own offline areas, if you disable that setting, they will only be able to use the preplanned offline areas you've created.
If you go to App Settings, and select Map, you'll see a toggle for "New Offline Map Areas". Turn that off and you should be good to go.

Thank you for the information, @ChrisDunn1! I am running ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4 and I do not see this setting. Is this something I should expect to see in a more recent version of Enterprise? For reference, I see Map area level of detail, Default extent, Edit multiple and Markup as options in the Map section.
Hi @mattkramer, thanks for the extra detail. That setting was added in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5, so it will become available the next time you upgrade.
