There is a way to configure Geofences that trigger alerts on Field Maps while using Mobile Map Packages (MMPK)?

I cant find a way to do this 😕

Tks

Hello,

Currently there is no way to configure Geofences for mmpks in Field Maps Designer or in Pro. Can you elaborate on how you are using Geofences in MMPKs? Thank you!

Regards,
Colin

Hi! Thanks for your reply.

Currently, we are using Field Map Designer to create geofences and package our maps for offline use. Our geofences are designed to alert users when they enter a restricted area.

However, to achieve this, we need to set up the map for offline use. This involves making at least one layer editable, configuring a basemap for offline use, and setting Sync options for the rest of the feature services. Additionally, we have to manually create the offline areas and update them whenever we make changes to the source map. It seems quite complex just for a map meant for visualization with alerts.

We do have a Python process that creates small Mobile Map Packages (MMPKs) from a map. These MMPKs are then published and shared in our Portal for ArcGIS (all done automatically). However, we switch to Field Map Designer just to incorporate the geofence alerts.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the details about the workflow. Being able to author Geofences directly on an MMPK in Designer or potentially a tool in Pro to configure them have been discussed but I am unaware of where this might fit on a roadmap. You and others providing use cases does help.

OK, I hope you can incorporate this into the roadmap 😊. Not only will it help us in this case, but it will also allow us to provide more solutions to our users (solutions we haven’t implemented due to the current complex process).
