Creating tasks using Survey123 form

Hello everyone,

I created a Survey123 form that is connected to a task-enabled feature layer called “WorkOrders”. The form is configured to populate the task fields - Assignee, Priority, Status and Task Type.

When I submit the form, the task is successfully created, and I can see it assigned to me in the Field Maps mobile app.

However, in Field Maps, the fields Priority, Task Type, Status, and Assignee appear empty.

I verified the data directly in the WorkOrders feature layer, and all of these fields are correctly populated there.

So my workflow is:

Survey123 --> creates Work Order (task) --> Field staff use Field Maps to view and complete the task.

The issue is that the attribute values are not displaying in Field Maps, even though they are stored correctly in the layer.

Has anyone experienced this or know why the fields are not appearing in Field Maps?

Can you share:

  • The domain lists for these fields
  • The choice lists in Survey123
  • The fields list in the layer
  • The XLSForm, or at least the relevant parts?
  • The arcade pop-up description / where is it not showing correctly vs correctly?

I'd hazard a guess that it's a domain label/value issue. But need a lot more info please.

Hi @ChristopherCounsell,

Today I tried to create a new layer and did the same steps again, this time it worked. I think the issue was with domains and task fields. As previously, I enabled and disabled tasks 2- 3 times and also one time I used custom values.

Can you share how you configured the survey to autopopulate the fields in Field Maps Tasks?
