Hello hello,

I read here that ArcGIS Workforce will integrate more closely with the Field Maps application in the future. Do you have additional information about the key features, and how the integration is implemented? Will Workforce remain its own application, or are there plans to migrate the work control management tasks into the Field Maps application? Do you still have a rough release estimate of the schedule for when the integration will be implemented?

I ask because so many of our electricity, water network, gas, and district heating network customers use the workflows of the Field Maps and Workforce applications to manage and perform network field work under field conditions. I thought about the timetables for when we can implement migrations and integrations with new applications for our customers.

Thanks in advance and good luck with the application development work.

Regards, Juha

What is planned for Field Maps?
In future releases, Field Maps will integrate the capabilities of ArcGIS Workforce and ArcGIS Navigator—bringing in assignment management and navigation. For more information on the Field Maps road plan, see What's new in ArcGIS Field Maps.

They've made the announcement at the Developer's Summit for the field task functionality available around July 2025.

Great to hear that ArcGIS Workforce capabilities are being migrated into Field Maps. This will definitely make it easier for our customers to manage their work projects by having all workflows in a single Field Maps application.

Do you have a more detailed timeline for the migration from Workforce to Field Maps? I'm asking because we have several customer development projects underway, and we are considering when to schedule the migration of Workforce workflows into Field Maps.

Thanks for any additional information, and best of luck with the development work.

Hi,

Just to add to this thread – ArcGIS Workforce functionality is now being integrated into the Field Maps app as part of the latest beta release. The new Task coordination capability in Field Maps brings Workforce-style workflows directly into Field Maps, allowing mobile workers to manage assignments, navigate to tasks, and complete work all within one app.

The production release is planned for June, alongside the ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5 and ArcGIS Online version updates.

You can read more about it here in Esri’s blog post: ArcGIS Field Maps Beta is here

The update planned for June is the Field Maps Designer

The mobile app is set to come later in Q3 and does not have a release date.

The mobile app is an important part of what I would consider 'production release' of Tasks.

Hi @ChristopherCounsell  absolutely agree - we are not recommending that Tasks are used in production until the mobile app is released in Q3.

As shared in the blog the reason we decoupled the mobile and designer release is so we can release the mobile app ahead of the R3 release in the fall and folks will be able to get up and running with it. Until then folks can test first with our Early adopter release of Designer and from the June release of ArcGIS Online (and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5) with the released version of  Field Maps Designer.

We don't have a release date we can share as of this moment for the mobile app, however, just yesterday we opened our beta on the Early Adopter Community.

Thanks @ChristopherCounsell and @SarahSaint-Ruth for the clarification. You're absolutely right, I had initially assumed the mobile app beta and the June release would align more closely, but it’s good to know that the Field Maps Designer production release is coming in June, while the mobile app with Tasks functionality will follow later in Q3.

Also great to hear the mobile beta just opened in the Early Adopter Community, that helps a lot for testing and early feedback. For anyone looking to try it out now, here's the direct link. Looking forward to exploring more of the Task coordination features as they evolve.
