I am trying to add data from a .csv file using ARCGIS Explorer online.  The file is attached -- one row.  I can complete the import steps but cannot see the result on the map -- can't zoom to it or anything. I am classifying the first field as a text and the next fields as location, latitude and longitude respectively. Is there something I am missing?  Or something about this file that makes it not work?  Thanks.

I experience exactly the same problem. When I import the CSV file, say with the following basic data, it does not appear on the map:

Lat                    Long                City
40.714623  -74.00660    new york

The software even recognizes Lat and Long and automatically suggests these columns to be classified as Location/Latitude and Location/Longitude. But when I finalize the import, the result does not show on the map (in this case nothing shows in New York area). Either I am missing something big time or there is a major issue with user unfriendliness?
When I classify New York as Location/City, it shows on the map...no clue why this works and lat/long doesn't...

Thanks for your help!!

Did either of you get an answer to this?  I'm having the same problems with ArcGIS Explorer On-line.  Everything looks OK, but nothing shows up.

Seems it is an issue with the ArcGIS Explorer On-line.  Open the ArcGIS application from the following location:

https://www.arcgis.com/home/signin.html

Login and find your map or create a new one.  Import your file (csv) and select teh location coordinates.  Save an exit. Open the ArcGIS Explorer On-line and find your file, which you have added the data.  You will be able to see it and modify it.

Hope this help.
