Why is ESRI doing away with desktop? It's all I've ever used and now, having to move to the online version, its like switching to an entirely different program. The shape files I use on desktop that I never have an issue with now have to be zipped before adding them. When I zip and import it just tells me it can't do it. No explanation or anything. So immediately upon trying to just get started and learn some of the online version's ways I'm dead in the water. Well, I think, I'll try a zipped file that I get off of the internet and insert that. That'll work, right? Nope. Too big. "Try publishing the data to a hosted layer". So far there is zero similarity in the 2 versions. I am starting from scratch it seems. I can't imagine the nightmare it'll be to edit layers. If I ever get there................
