ncWMS data does not display in ArcGIS Explorer

I am trying to view netcdf files via ncWMS in ArcGIS Explorer and the layers are read from the WMS server but none of the layers are visible within ArcGIS Explorer. The same layers can be viewed without problems using QGIS.

Here is a list of ncWMS services that I am trying to view:

http://141.30.100.162:8080/ncWMS/
http://www.ifremer.fr/ncWMS/
http://coast-enviro.er.usgs.gov/ncWMS/
http://lovejoy.nerc-essc.ac.uk:8080/ncWMS/

WMS version 1.1.1 works perfectly in QGIS but not in ArcGIS Explorer. There are no error messages and the layers do show up in the left list of layers.

Any idea why?
