map services not displaying in 2d

We've got an issue with AGX build 1200 (also installed the Projection Engine Expansion Pack).  We can add and view shapefiles and map services from the local machine's map server (both 2d and 3d), but it seems like we can only view a map service that's on another machine in 3d view.

i tried messing with the 2d projection and still the data does not display. The second i switch to 3d we are good and the data from ArcGIS Server displays.

I am not sure if this will help or not but when I want to get my data to show in AGX for 2D and 3D I made a Globe Service and a Map Service. So I made a Globe Service named Imagery and a Map Service named Imagery_2D. The layers added to the Globe and Map Service (sing ArcGlobe and ArcMap) are the same. When AGX switches between 2D and 3D it will check to see if it can find services following this naming convention and use the Globe Service for 3D and the Map Service for 2D.
