Hello,

since two weeks I work with ArcGIS Explorer. I am at a loss. I work with a lot of raster data. I want to know whether it is possible to read with ArcGIS Explorer image catalogs (.dbf - files) or it is possible that the created raster catalog with ArgGIS Catalog can be read by ArcGIS Explorer.

Thanks

Annemarie,

You need to use ArcGIS Desktop (ArcView/ArcEditor/ArcInfo) to create a Layer File for the Raster Catalog. Then you can add that Layer File to ArcGIS Explorer. You will need to ensure all your rasters have a spatial reference defined.

There is also a bug logged for this with the workaround that mike wrote.
NIM056429 - Raster Catalogs cannot be added from a Geodatabase in ArcGIS Explorer.

Workaround
1. Right Click on the Raster Catalog in ArcCatalog.
2. Click ??Create Layer?? and save the layer file.
3. This layer file can be added to ArcGIS Explorer using the Add Content -> ArcGIS Layers option.
