free viewing of .sid files?

I notice my new ArcGIS Explorer Desktop apparently will only open .nmf map files - not the .sid extensions I need.  I assume I need an 'application configuration' - but I don't have access to such. 

Is there a work-around that will help me view these .sid files?

Hi,

No you don't need to use an application configuration.

Just start ArcGIS Explorer then go to Add Content menu and select Raster Data. Navigate to your Mr Sid file and add it
