Basic question about adding CSV data

Hi, I'm fairly new to ArcGIS Explorer, and I had a question about adding Excel or CSV data. I was able to download a shapefile of school districts. The file includes identification numbers for each district. I want to add in another CSV file with financial data for each district, and basically merge that data in on the district identification number. When I click the "add content" and "text files", it seems like the data has to include a geography, like lat/long or an address. How do I merge in the data on the identification number?

Hi Jennifer,

It sounds like you want to do a Table Join, but I don't believe this is possible out of the box with ArcGIS Explorer. You can do this in ArcGIS Desktop. It also looks like there may be some options to do this with the ArcGIS Explorer Desktop SDK. There are a few other threads relating to this question.
